YEAR 10 STUDENTS ATTEND CAREERS CONVENTION @ RAINEY ENDOWED

On Wednesday 22 October the Year 10 pupils' of Magherafelt High School attended a “STEAM” Careers Event organised by the Magherafelt Leaning Partnership and hosted by Rainey Endowed. Our Pupils had an opportunity to attend presentations from keynote Speakers such as Mr Mark Semple from Moyola Precision Engineering in Castledawson,  as well as visit a number of careers exhibitions.

The speakers and exhibitors represented a wide range of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematical careers areas, with a specific focus on introducing pupils to a greater diversity of career opportunities which exist for study and employment in the future. The Event also demonstrated that the Arts are an essential component of STEM, as Arts education is key to creativity and therefore economic prosperity. This was a great opportunity for our students to see “STEAM” in action as they prepare to make their GCSE subject choices in the New Year.
