Computer Summer School at University of Ulster

University of Ulster host computer summer school for 14-16 year olds

This year the University of Ulster have decided to run the Summer Camp at both the Jordanstown and Coleraine campuses.  Participants will study for a  5-credit point module in either Mechanical Technology [Jordanstown only, with the Student Formula Car Team]  or in a Computing topic [at either Jordanstown or Coleraine, with staff from the Computing Schools]  for half of each day, and will then take part in multi-sport activities [with staff from the Ulster Sports Academy]  in the other half of the day.

Both the academic and the sports activities will focus on the fun element through participation in a non competitive environment and will be planned and delivered by appropriately qualified academic staff and sports coaches to ensure an enjoyable overall experience.    New modules have been developed for delivery this year since we are hoping that last year’s participants will want to come back!

It is expected that participants will arrive at the University from around 8.45am for a 9.00am start and can be collected between 5.00pm-5.30pm (4.00pm finish on a Friday).  The fee for the week, inclusive of refreshments and lunch, is £100.

Application forms can be accessed online at: http://www.ics.heacademy.ac.uk/docs/summercampv3.pdf

As places are limited, the University of Ulster need to know quickly if you would like to register on the programme, and it would therefore be appreciated if completed applications, with a cheque for the appropriate fee (made payable to University of Ulster), could be returned asap to Hazel White, Room 16G28, University of Ulster, Shore Road, Newtownabbey, BT37 0QB.  Anyone wishing to pay in cash should call in to the Jordanstown Sports Centre Reception where staff will be happy to accept forms and payment.

Any enquiries about the Summer Camp should be directed to Hazel White on extension 66109  or by email to h.white1@ulster.ac.uk<mailto:h.white1@ulster.ac.uk>.
