At 10:30pm on Wednesday the 26th of November 2011, the final old school bell rang, signalling the end of an era for the old school building.

The corridors echoed with the voices of days gone by as past pupils and staff fondly remembered their halcyon days in the high school. With an estimated 1500 people turning up to walk their old school corridors one last time, staff were kept busy with the unprecedented turnout. It is indeed a testament to the high esteem in which the school is held by the wider school community, that they would spend an evening remembering their days in the high school.

The corridors and rooms were decorated with images of former staff and students sparking the memories of all those who took the time to stop. For many though, simply walking around the corridors was enough to ignite memories of their time in school.

An emotional night was brought to a close as the bell chimed one last time for past pupils, a final class Magherafelt High School staff and students would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support and words of encouragement on the evening.
