YEAR 8 RUGBY

The first match of the year with a friendly against Sperrin Integrated College .  The 10 a-side game was played on our School's own Rugby pitch.  The general power and experience that our Year 8's had proved too much for the Sperrin boys' who tackled their hearts out all game. 

MHS RUGBY STUDENTS SEE ULSTER VICTORY

The Magherafelt High School Girl's Tag-Rugby Team went on a trip to 'Kingspan' Stadium, Belfast to watch the Ulster v Edinburgh match on Friday, 3 October 2014.  Everyone was wrapped up warm with hoods and umbrellas at the ready while they watched the team warm up.  [click on the link below to see a few photographs]

YEAR 9 PUPILS' BOOST FUNDS FOR ACTION MS

 

Well done to all the Year 9 pupils' who participated in the Action MS Sponsored Walk. Together they raised an amazing £2,170.00 Pictured with Mr Elder and Angela Hampton is Carla Stewart who raised the largest amount. Other high raisers were, Taryn Whyte, Chloe Hepburn and Nicola Chambers.

PRIZE DISTRIBUTION 2014

The annual prize distribution at Magherafelt High School was held on Wednesday, 20 September 2014.  This event recognises and celebrates the successes and achievements of our pupils' across all year groups during the last school year and in particular acknowledges the excellent results obtained in GCSE, AS and A2 examinations in 2014.  The guest speaker was Mr Lyle Watters, Chief Financial Officer, Vice President of Ford of Europe, the Middle East and Africa, who is a former pupil of the school.  We would like to extend our thanks to Mr Watters for taking the time to attend our prize distribution and congratulate all our pupils', past and present who were awarded prizes at the event.
